User Changeable Relay Coils on New GIGAVAC® High Voltage Relays

Santa Barbara, CA – GIGAVAC®, today’s expert in high voltage relays, has introduced new high voltage relays that allow users to change the coil, even after the relays are installed.

Design engineers often find they must change the coil drive supply voltage. But the high voltage relays they have in stock will not work with their new supply voltage. Rather than scrap the relays, GIGAVAC solves this dilemma by providing relays that allow the coils to be easily and quickly changed by the user.

“The ability to change the coil adds tremendous value to GIGAVAC relays,” says Jim Lanum, VP of Sales for GIGAVAC. “This illustrates our commitment to providing our customers with cost efficient solutions.“

Coil kits can be purchased for GIGAVAC relay models G2, G8, G15 and the GH series. According to Lanum, “The kits are so inexpensive and convenient that many customers will opt to purchase kits with their initial purchase to insure they have relays that will work with any voltages.” GIGAVAC’s coil replacement kits include a coil, retaining nut (or screw for GH series), fit washer, and coil base plate marked with the correct coil voltage. The user simply removes the old coil and base plate, then slides in the new coil, attaches the base plate and the relay is transformed according to the new specifications.

Lanum continues, "We offer the coil kit as a convenience to make our relays more user friendly and to save our customers money. The customer has already invested in our relays and we believe it is our responsibility to do what we can to help our customers facilitate changes in their applications.” GIGAVAC says the replacement kits are in stock and sell for $25 each. Lanum adds, “If the customer only needs a couple of coils, we often just drop them in the mail at no charge.”

“We are in the business of providing high voltage switching solutions, not just relays” according to Mike Molyneux, President of GIGAVAC. "We all left companies who forgot that the customer is the only reason they are in business, so at GIGAVAC we continually improve our products and business practices to give the customers what they need.”
