GX11 HIGH CURRENT 150 Amp EPIC™ SEALED CONTACTOR DEBUTS
~Safely switch up to 750 volts DC and AC
Santa Barbara, California - GIGAVAC®, today's expert in high voltage relays, announces a new completely sealed 150 Amp single pole, single throw normally open contactor that can power switch both AC and DC up to 750 volts - the GX11. Using GIGAVAC’s EPIC™ sealing technology (Extended Performance Impervious Ceramic), as used in advanced aerospace applications, the new GX11 can operate in harsh environments without the need for special protective packaging.
Measuring only 57mm (2.25 in.) in height, the GX11 sealed contactor with easy-connect industry standard chassis level power connections, can be mounted in any direction practically anywhere without having to bend the large connecting power cables or develop special bus bars. The new GX11 is available with DC and AC coils. Internal coil suppression is built-in for the DC coils. Single pole, double throw (SPDT) auxiliary contacts rated at 2 Amps are available as an option.
“We have studied industry needs extensively and have created a truly unique, low cost sealed multi purpose contactor. The GX11, with its simple, easy to understand ratings, makes it hassle free for all users,” explains Pat McPherson, GIGAVAC’s VP of Marketing, “It’s very compact and requires only 28 Milliamps of coil power at 24 VDC; and has no electronic coil economizer that can generate noise or become contaminated.” McPherson added, “The GX11 can operate at temperatures from –55°C to 75°C (up to 125°C with special coils), and can withstand terminal temperatures up to 175°C; reducing the risk of fire or melt down should a failure or short occur elsewhere in the circuit.”
